LindenA little journal

A small journal

A little space,
to simply be.

A book, a cup of tea, a walk without a destination.
Small notes on the things worth slowing down for.

A LITTLE ROOM TO BREATHE

01 Reading notes

One page at a time

There is no hurry to finish a book. Sometimes a single paragraph is enough for an afternoon.

Read the note

I used to measure a book by the distance between my bookmark and its last page. Now I remember books by the sentences that return to me, often long after I have put them down.

These days I keep a book within reach. A few pages in the morning, a paragraph before bed. When something stays with me, I stop for a while. Reading can be a quiet part of the day rather than another thing to finish.

If you are not sure where to begin, open the nearest book. One page is a perfectly good start.

02 Everyday moments

Let the tea cool

The kettle falls quiet. The light shifts across the table. For a moment, there is nowhere else to be.

Read the note

One of the nicest things about making tea is that waiting becomes part of the task. The water needs to boil, the leaves need to open, and the first sip is usually too hot.

In those few minutes, I clear a corner of the table or look out of the window. Sometimes I do nothing at all. As the steam fades, the day feels a little less crowded.

There is room for more of these small pauses. Sit down, let the tea cool, and enjoy it while it is still warm.

03 Out for a walk

Take the quieter path

Turn a different corner now and then. You do not need a destination to find something worth noticing.

Read the note

A familiar route is useful. You know where to turn and how long it takes. After a while, though, the trees, shop windows, and changing sky become a background you barely see.

One afternoon I walked past my usual turning and found a quiet lane. A plant was climbing a low wall. Someone had set a few books outside to catch the sun. Nothing remarkable, but I still remember it.

On your next walk, try going a little farther before you turn. Ten extra minutes can make an ordinary place feel new again.
